Interpretation of all imaging studies performed on-site at Central Hospital. Our team is also available for referring veterinarian consultation on digital imaging studies submitted through Centralโs Teleradiology service.
Diagnostic Imaging For Small Animals
At Central Hospital, we utilize state-of-the-art digital radiology, ultrasound, CT, and MRI to provide comprehensive diagnostic imaging for cats and dogs and small animals. These advanced radiological tools enable us to examine your petโs internal structures, including the lungs, heart, muscles, bones, brain, oral cavity, and abdominal cavity, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Radiographs (X-ray)
We can use X-ray imaging to identify fractures, growths, obstructions, foreign bodies, infections, and more. Our Radiology team assists all of our Central Hospital departments in their imaging needs as well. X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of veterinary medical imaging, and are commonly used to diagnose problems such as: pneumonia, heart failure, some cancer markers, broken bones, and various other life threatening conditions.

Computed Tomography (CT)
In addition to radiographs, we employ our CT Scan machine for any additional imaging your pet may need. CT Scans need to be scheduled by your family veterinarian or by a hospital staff doctor. A CT scan makes use of computer-processed combinations of many X-ray images taken from different angles to produce cross-sectional (tomographic) images, or virtual โslicesโ of specific areas of a scanned animal, allowing us to see inside the body of your pet without surgical incisions.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
MRI allows us to perform advanced imaging of the brain, spinal cord, muscles, tendons, and other structures. MRI allows visualization of complex anatomical areas with great detail to provide the most accurate diagnostic information for our specialists and your veterinarian.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound uses sound waves to form images of internal anatomy. We utilize ultrasound daily to get detailed images of internal organs, muscles, tendons, and other structures to quickly and reliably help diagnose many abdominal, thoracic and musculoskeletal conditions.
OutPatient Imaging Services
Outpatient imaging services are available at Central for patients seen by their Primary Care Veterinarian and have been recommended to seek advanced imaging diagnostics. Clients are scheduled for imaging only, and the final report is sent directly to their Primary Care Veterinarian who will continue to manage the case and provide imaging results. For more comprehensive case management, our specialists and your veterinarian will likely recommend a combined imaging, consultation and case management with a specific specialty department at Central based on your veterinarians initial findings. For more information on the referral process for your pet needing imaging services, discuss your options with your primary care veterinarian or give us a call.
