What’s New in Imaging at Central Hospital?

At Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine, we are continually working to expand and enhance the care we provide. Our Radiology Department has recently grown, bringing new expertise and greater access to advanced imaging services.

Introducing our Radiology Team

We are proud to reintroduce our board-certified radiologists:

These specialists bring advanced training in diagnostic imaging and collaborate closely with your family veterinarian to provide timely, expert interpretations for a wide range of cases.

Welcoming Courtney Zeiner, Ultrasound Technologist

We are excited to welcome Courtney Zeiner, RDMS, RVT, to our team. Courtney is a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with extensive experience in human diagnostic imaging and veterinary technical care. Her expertise allows us to offer more outpatient ultrasound appointments while maintaining the high standard of precision and compassion our clients expect.

Courtney’s lifelong passion for animals began in childhood, growing up among pets and helping raise everything from puppies to pigs. Though she pursued human medicine like her mother, a nurse of 50 years, she stayed connected to animals through veterinary and grooming work. After two decades in sports medicine, she transitioned into diagnostic ultrasound, training under leading radiologists at level I trauma centers. Now certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with specialties in abdomen, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and vascular technology, Courtney has joined Central Hospital as an Ultrasound Technologist. She finds the work deeply rewarding, comparing it to her years with adolescents who were unable to voice their needs, where clinical expertise helps uncover causes, ease pain, and guide recovery.

What Does a Sonographer Do in Veterinary Medicine?

In veterinary medicine, sonographers perform ultrasound scans that help detect and monitor conditions affecting the abdomen, musculoskeletal system, neck, and other areas. At Central, every scan performed by Courtney is reviewed by a board-certified radiologist to ensure accurate interpretation and seamless collaboration with your primary care veterinarian.

Why Outpatient Ultrasound Matters

Outpatient ultrasound offers several benefits:

  • Convenience with faster scheduling and shorter visits
  • Comfort without the need for overnight stays
  • Clarity through high-quality imaging reviewed by local specialists
  • Continuity with results shared directly with your veterinarian

Whether your pet needs a diagnostic scan or guided sample collection, our expanded team is here to help.

Collaborative, Compassionate Care

At Central Hospital, we believe in a team-based approach. Our radiology specialists and sonographer work closely with your veterinarian to ensure your pet receives the best possible care with speed, safety, and compassion.
