The oncology service at Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine offers comprehensive consultation, diagnostic services, staging and treatment plans for all cancers of companion animals. We have a full time oncology service at Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine that sees appointments Tuesdays through Fridays
Our Oncologist will obtain and thoroughly review your pet’s medical history prior to your appointment. During your appointment, a complete physical exam will be performed on your pet. Based on these initial findings, additional diagnostic tests and treatment options will be recommended. There will be a detailed discussion about cancer type, associated prognosis, and together we will formulate a treatment plan that is tailored to your individual pet and your family.
The initial consultation appointment with our oncologist is scheduled for a full hour to allow time to answer all of your questions and to permit a detailed discussion given the complex nature of the subject matter. In many cases we can perform recommended diagnostic tests and/or treatment on the same day of your initial consultation, although some may have to be performed during a follow up visit. After your consultation a summary of your pet’s visit will be shared with your primary care veterinarian who will remain an integral part of your pet’s care. Our goal is to function as a team with your primary care veterinarian and you to provide the highest level of care for your pet.
