Julia Shakeri, DVM

Dr. Julia Shakeri received her DVM from the University of Illinois in 2010. She completed a one year internship at the VCA Veterinary Referral Center in Norwalk, CT followed by an additional year of specialty internship training in avian and exotic medicine and surgery. Dr. Shakeri went on to complete a three year residency in avian medicine and surgery. Her practice is limited to avian, small companion mammals and reptile/amphibian species. She sees patients by appointment.

The Avian/Exotic Pet department at Central Hospital offers wellness examinations as well as treatment and hospitalization of sick birds, reptiles/amphibians and small companion animals such as sugar gliders, guinea pigs, rabbits and ferrets. Basic evaluation and supportive care is available through our emergency department.
