Central Hospital For Veterinary Medicine has been dedicated to serving its local community for over 40 years. That goes beyond the pets that walk through our doors. We pride ourselves on being active through out the New Haven county. We organize annual donation drives, sponsors and organize community events, and host the Purr Project at our hospital which shelters and adopts cats year round. Our belief in serving the community has been and will continue to be the core of our mission at Central Hospital For Veterinary Medicine.
Here are just a few of the local events, organizations and shelters that we volunteer our time with. We look forward to seeing you and your pet at the next event!
We are a donation center for “Help Willy’s Friends” (www.helpwillysfriends.org)
We walk in the 2 Million Dog Puppy Up Walk for Dog Cancer Awareness (www.2milliondogs.org)
We are proud to organize and be the residence of the Purr Project. Which is a cat 501(c3) organization whose purpose it is to give a second chance to good felines that would otherwise be euthanized because of tramma resulting from accidents, abuse or abandonment. For a full list of adoptable cats and how to get involved please click here.
We host high school students for senior internships (must be 18 years old to participate).
We are an approved training facility for students completing requirements for the Veterinary Technician Programs at ABC Animal Behavior College and Northwestern Connecticut Community College.
We host veterinary students from all over the world for externships by request.
